As a Security Officer - Access Control Gate in North Chesterfield, VA
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Join Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location where you will support access control operations, greet employees and visitors, verify credentials, issue badges, and help manage entry procedures. You will complete routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help reduce incidents, document security-related activity using a computer and/or tablet, and communicate clearly with site teams.

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial location.
• Staff access control points to help manage entry and exit, verify identification and/or access authorization, issue visitor credentials, and maintain visitor and contractor logs per site requirements.
• Conduct vehicle and pedestrian screening as required, including checking deliveries against paperwork, directing traffic flow at gates, and coordinating with site contacts for approvals and/or escorts.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, documenting actions taken, and supporting on-site personnel during industrial alarms and/or process upsets.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of gate areas, adjacent buildings, and perimeter routes as assigned, reporting hazards, suspicious activity, and/or maintenance issues through approved communication channels.

• Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
