The Food Truck Cook at Hardywood West Creek is responsible for driving an exemplary reputation for quality food, quick service, and friendly interaction between team members and guests in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Staff will work with direct oversight from the Kitchen Manager to prepare a curated menu consisting of burgers, sandwiches, and shareables, as well as the potential for a range of catered options for special/private events.
Job Responsibilities- Achieve the objectives of Hardywood’s hospitality program to delight our customers with an exceptional food, beverage, and service experience.
- Consistently maintain high quality products through proper technique and recipe adherence.
- Operate and maintain professional grade equipment in a food truck environment with a focus on cleanliness, organization, customer satisfaction, and aesthetic presentation.
- Prepare and cook a range of offerings with a highlight on locally sourced ingredients for a menu consisting of burgers, sandwiches, shareables, and a range of catering options.
- Host occasional pop-up kitchen events in outdoor beer gardens at Hardywood’s Richmond or West Creek breweries in Spring, Summer, and Fall.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in the culinary field, with opportunity for advancement as Hardywood’s culinary operations evolve.
- Help maintain proper inventory levels of food ingredients and kitchen supplies.
- Provide guidance, training, and oversight to other kitchen team members.
- Report to the Kitchen Manager and assist with additional tasks throughout the brewery as needed.
- Operating the POS and helping customers in a timely manner.
- Food preparation and stocking as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment (including but not limited to: dishwashing, sanitizing, following food safety guidelines and state regulations).
- Adhere to opening and closing procedures, safety guidelines, and cleanliness standards as outlined by the Kitchen Manager.
- Keep the food truck and all storage areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Strong oral communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Previous restaurant, catering, or bakery experience is a plus.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Physical requirements include ability to remain on feet and lift 50+ pounds throughout shifts of up to 12 hours.
- Must be able to work in a fast paced, high volume establishment while retaining attention to detail and safety.
- Serv Safe Certification a plus.
- Must be available to work at least 1 day per weekend (Saturday and/or Sunday).
- Must be able to lift 50+ pounds.
- Must be able to work on your feet for the duration of a shift.
- Must be able to work outside year round.
