Position OverviewLicensed RN required for Evening and Night shifts caring for adult and/or geriatric patients with psychiatric/mental health issues. Shift differential applies for evenings, nights, and weekend shifts. Work as part of a dedicated team that delivers individualized, recovery-focused care in a beautiful rural setting only 20 minutes from downtown Roanoke or Salem. Extensive orientation and training will be provided.
Responsibilities- Provide quality nursing care to adult and geriatric psychiatric patients in accordance with hospital policy and the standards of nursing practice.
- Evaluate, supervise, and provide performance guidance for staff.
- Apply nursing processes and knowledge in pharmacology, psychiatric disorders, and in addressing the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients.
- Work collaboratively within a dedicated team to deliver individualized, recovery‑focused care.
- Compensate overtime at 1.5 times the regular hourly rate.
- Valid RN license issued by the Virginia Department of Health Professions Board of Nursing or from another compact state. A letter of authorization to practice from the Board of Nursing is encouraged.
- Experience utilizing the nursing process with knowledge of pharmacology, psychiatric disorders, and physical, psychological, and social needs of psychiatric patients.
- Proficiency in delegating nursing activities, supervising, and counseling nursing staff.
- Demonstrated competency per the Competency Assessment framework.
Psychiatric, mental health, or long‑term care experience preferred.
