Nurse Practitioner – Pediatric Intensive Care

A nationally recognized children’s hospital in Norfolk, Virginia is seeking Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to join a high-acuity, 32-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). This full‑time role supports critically ill medical, surgical, trauma, ECMO, and congenital cardiac patients in the Commonwealth’s only free‑standing children’s hospital.

This position is ideal for clinicians with a passion for pediatric critical care
, complex cardiac patients, and collaborative, academic‑style practice.

• Provide direct care for critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
• Manage post‑operative congenital cardiac and CVICU‑level patients
• Participate in trauma, ECMO, and complex medical cases
• Collaborate with intensivists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams
• Rotate through days, nights, and weekends

• Active Virginia NP or PA license
• CPNP-AC or Acute Care certification required
• 1–3 years experience in PICU, critical care, or acute pediatric settings
• Interest or experience in cardiac intensive care strongly preferred

• CME allowance & ongoing education
