Registered Nurse (RN) – Acute Care General Medicine (3 West)
Capable clinician, focused on expanding knowledge and skills. Consistently provides effective direct care, as part of the interdisciplinary team, to a variety of complex patients. Manages care and implements treatment plans at a refined skill level in collaboration with patients, their families, physicians and other members of the health care team. Seeks as well as provides feedback for improved clinical practice.
Assumes a beginning leadership role but seeks mentoring in this process.
- Apply ANA Scope and Standards of Practice and ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.
- Deliver relationship‑based care to patients and families, reflecting the nurse’s relationships with self, colleagues, and patients.
- Perform expert caring: clinical assessment, planning, prioritizing, coordination and implementation of care.
- Participate as an empowered leader in shared governance.
- Engage in lifelong learning through formal education, certifications, and professional organizations. Support onboarding of new team members and preceptorships.
- Achieve quality by adhering to clinical documentation guidelines, using outcomes data, and engaging in performance‑improvement activities.
- Demonstrate innovation by applying technologies that support patient care and implementing evidence‑based practice.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire).
- One year of relevant experience.
- Licensure:
Registered Nurse in Virginia; AHA Health Care Provider BLS certification required. - Physical demands: standing for prolonged periods, frequent mobility, bending/stooping; ability to lift or move 20–50 lbs; exposure to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
The starting base rate for this role is $39.90 per hour. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate’s qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
