Movement Search & Delivery is partnering with a Wood Product Manufacturing Company in Halifax County, Virginia to find an Electrical Supervisor. The role is onsite five days a week, typically Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with flexibility for shutdowns and failures. The successful candidate must be located in or willing to relocate to the Halifax area; relocation assistance will be provided for the right candidate.

Maintenance Oversight- Review and assign maintenance requests, setting priorities for personnel.
- Evaluate PLC program changes for adequacy and necessity.
- Assist with complex maintenance repair problems and provide technical guidance.
- Maintain a preventative maintenance program to minimize downtime.
- Develop and maintain record systems to identify problem areas and initiate corrective actions.
- Train and supervise maintenance personnel, ensuring electricians are skilled in new technologies and equipment.
- Communicate and enforce new plant policies and procedures.
- Monitor and evaluate employee performance, recommending promotions, transfers, or corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure electrical staff are properly trained on FIKE fire system maintenance.
- Conduct OSHA Action Plan training and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Audit plant fire protection systems, ensuring hoses, pumps, and hydrants are properly maintained.
- Support ongoing fire brigade training across shifts.
- Inspect plant facilities for compliance with company, state, and federal regulations.
- Investigate accidents or significant incidents and recommend corrective measures.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of an effective safety program.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards within the department.
- Collaborate with production supervisors to promote smooth operations and maximize efficiency.
- Recommend changes in operating procedures to improve safety and efficiency.
- Assist purchasing in developing an effective parts and supplies control system to maintain adequate inventory at minimal cost.
- A.S. or B.S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering & 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Interactive graphic system experience.
- Knowledge of plant processing and equipment (wood products a plus).
- Ability to use spreadsheets and word processing software.
