Sales Manager – PPI – Precision Pulley & Idler
Full‑time position, Exempt, 50% travel required.
Job SummaryResponsible for the sale of all Precision products within the assigned territory and for the selection and development of key accounts, including distributors, OEMs, engineering/consultants, and end‑users.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Achieve growth and hit sales targets by collaborating with project management and inside sales teams.
- Design and implement a strategic business plan to expand customer base and strengthen company presence.
- Recruit, set objectives, coach, and monitor performance of the project sales/management team.
- Build strong, long‑lasting customer relationships by partnering with inside sales contacts.
- Present sales, revenue, and expense reports with realistic forecasts to management.
- Identify emerging markets and market shifts while staying abreast of new products and competition.
- Drive sales growth, profit margins, quotation follow‑up, product training, and personal visits (3‑4 per month for top 20% accounts).
- Engage corporate decision makers and outside sales to maintain and grow existing and new business.
- Coordinate with estimating, engineering, and outside sales to improve order close rate and deliver professional presentation of package quotes.
- Apply verbal and written communication skills in all customer interactions.
- Maintain a team environment and collaborate with other departments.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable laws.
- Establish management practices throughout assigned areas, fostering constructive input and action.
- Maintain trustworthiness and a strong work ethic.
- Assist in developing short‑ and long‑term plans, policies, programs, and objectives with the Divisional Sales Manager.
- Travel domestically as required, including driving and/or flying for extended periods.
- Participate in additional training related to the role and perform assignments beyond primary duties as needed.
- Submit required reports and expenses within guidelines and deadlines.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Consistent attendance and availability during normal business hours; occasional extra hours required.
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four‑year college or university.
- Ten or more years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Valid state driver’s license.
- Ability to attain MSHA Certification.

Must frequently stoop/bend, use hands and arms, stand and walk, and lift or move up to 25 pounds. Vision: close, distance, and peripheral. Hearing: ability to respond quickly to instructions in a fast‑paced environment.
Environmental AdaptabilityWork is performed in a moderate noise environment. Steel‑toe safety shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection as required.
