Job DutiesThe Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst Student Intern to provide testing of acquired and developed applications and databases in support of services provided to agency staff, customers and constituents. The position will utilize an understanding of best practices in software quality assurance to draft quality assurance policies and procedures, develop quality assurance testing plans and test scripts, perform application and data testing to ensure that business requirements and objectives are met, document and communicate quantitative and qualitative findings to development staff, and coordinate the creation of documentation and business processes with business analysts and other staff.
Minimum Qualifications- Currently enrolled in an information technology or computer related program.
- Knowledge of software testing best practices and implementation.
- Ability to perform software testing on both web-based and desktop applications.
- Ability to independently review business requirements and existing applications to extract necessary information to develop test cases and scripts.
- Strong organizational, time management, problem solving and multitasking skills.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to complete assignments on time.
- Positive attitude and ability to work harmoniously with others.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to understand technical information and relay information to others in an effective manner.
- Knowledge of developing quality assurance test cases and test scripts and performing manual and automated testing of software applications and data.
- Knowledge of performing technical writing including documenting test cases and test results, technology requirements, tasks and procedures, and other documentation involved in building and maintaining technology systems.
