Position Title: Desktop Support
Location: Fairfax County, VA (Onsite)

Position Status: Contract
Pay Rate: $20 - $22 per hour
Position DescriptionWe are seeking a customer-focused IT Support Specialist to provide frontline technical support for end users in a fast-paced enterprise environment. This role is ideal for professionals who enjoy solving technical challenges, delivering excellent customer service, and supporting modern workplace technologies.
The successful candidate will troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues while ensuring a seamless user experience across Windows systems and Microsoft 365 applications. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, follow established support procedures, and contribute to maintaining secure and efficient IT operations.
This position offers an opportunity to work with enterprise tools, remote support technologies, and cybersecurity best practices while expanding technical expertise in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Tier 1/Tier 2 technical support for hardware, software, and system-related issues
- Diagnose and resolve Windows 11 endpoint issues and user environment problems
- Troubleshoot VPN connectivity, including Palo Alto Global Protect client support
- Support Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, One Drive, and Microsoft Teams
- Manage and resolve incidents using Service Now or similar ticketing systems
- Assist users with password management, MFA setup, and cybersecurity best practices
- Perform basic network troubleshooting (IP addressing, DNS connectivity issues)
- Deliver exceptional customer service with clear communication and professional interaction
- Follow standard operating procedures and document resolutions accurately
- Collaborate with internal IT teams to elevate and resolve complex technical issues
- Strong communication and customer service skills with a professional and collaborative approach
- Experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues in an enterprise environment
- Hands‑on experience supporting Windows 11 operating systems
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, One Drive)
- Experience using ITSM / ticketing platforms such as Service Now
- Basic networking knowledge (IP, DNS fundamentals)
- Foundational cybersecurity knowledge (MFA, phishing awareness)
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
- Detail‑oriented with strong problem‑solving skills
- CompTIA A+ Certification
- Microsoft 365 Certified:
Fundamentals - Experience with Connect Wise Remote Support tools
- Familiarity with Cyber Ark Workforce Password Management
- Experience supporting Citrix VDI environments
