Overview
Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure Physical Security is seeking a highly talented and motivated Security Program Manager to join our team. AWS is the leading cloud provider, offering virtualized infrastructure, storage, networking, messaging, and many other services to customers worldwide, including the international public sector community. The role oversees physical security design and installation of security features and systems such as access control, intrusion detection, camera surveillance, barriers, and other capabilities consistent with AWS security standards and public sector contract requirements.
It supports new data centers, a logistics warehouse, data center expansions, and special security programs.
- Participate in physical security design and system installation for new data centers, expansions and special projects.
- Provide project lifecycle management including bid packages, specifications, drawings, code compliance, vendor management, budget, change orders, and close‑out documentation.
- Manage vendor onboarding, RFP/RFQ bidding, contracting, execution, QA/QC, and support processes.
- Manage multi‑million dollar project budgets and track the finance and budgeting process.
- Lead physical security team acceptance, sign‑off, and operational readiness validation for high security facilities.
- Report performance metrics such as vendor delivery performance, spend vs. budget variance, cost reduction, defect rates, and program analysis.
- Collaborate across teams to drive global, regional, and local security initiatives.
- Support Cluster Security Managers by providing analysis and recommending program enhancements.
- Travel locally to AWS facilities throughout the Northern Virginia/DC Metro area and occasionally throughout the United States.

- Knowledge of MS Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project, and technical document tools such as Visio, Word, or PowerPoint.
- 5+ years of program or project management experience, or a bachelor's degree and 5+ years of cross‑functional team experience.
- Experience designing and implementing physical security systems including access control, intrusion detection, and CCTV surveillance.
- 2+ years working in a regulated industry (government, banking, health care) with audited facility security requirements.
- Frequent travel to AWS facilities in the Northern Virginia/DC Metro area.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences, including senior leadership.
- Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittals.
- Knowledge of security equipment such as intrusion detection devices and access control systems.
- 1+ year of experience with cloud‑based solutions (AWS or equivalent) and network or operating systems.
- Bachelor's degree or higher.
- Familiarity with project management and design and construction software.
This position is based in Culpepper/Sevens burg, VA, and requires 50% local travel for project milestones and hand‑off to local security operations teams. The role requires a U.S. citizen who can obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance with a polygraph. Obtaining the required clearance is a condition of employment.

Compensation & BenefitsBase salary ranges for this position are listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
