Role: IT Trainer / Knowledge Transfer Specialist

• As-needed IT staff augmentation and consulting support for City IT initiatives and operations, including project delivery, process improvement, training, governance, and change management.

• The city intends to engage vendor resources on an as-needed basis. Work will be initiated via City-approved Statements of Work (SOWs). No minimum hours are guaranteed, and the City may negotiate scope and rates prior to award.

Design and deliver end-user and technical training, develop training materials, and execute structured knowledge transfer to City teams.

• Conduct training needs assessment and audience analysis (end users, admins, support)
• Develop training plans, agendas, job aids, quick reference guides, and FAQs
• Deliver instructor-led training (in-person/virtual) and support train-the-trainer
• Create and maintain training materials aligned to City workflows and processes
• Track attendance, feedback, readiness, and adoption metrics
• Coordinate with SMEs, BA/PM, and technical teams to ensure accurate content

• 4+ years IT training experience (systems/process training)
• Strong instructional design and facilitation skills
• Ability to deliver sessions on-site in Danville, VA as needed

• Certified Professional in Training Management (CPTM) or similar
• Experience training in government/public sector environments
