ServiceNow Developer – Mid Level

Job Description

Centennial Technologies is seeking a mid-level Service Now Developer with hands‑on experience in modules such as IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Operations Management Visibility (ITOM Visibility), Hardware Asset Management (HAM), and Governance, Risk, and Compliance / Integrated Risk Management (GRC/IRM). The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust, scalable, and secure Service Now solutions, and will play a key role in designing, developing, and implementing high‑quality applications on the Service Now platform.

• Design, develop, and implement custom applications, workflows, UI policies, business rules, client scripts, and integrations on the Service Now platform.
• Configure and customize core modules including ITSM, ITOM, HAM, and GRC/IRM.
• Build and maintain data models, transform maps, and discovery patterns to ensure accurate and reliable CMDB and service mapping.
• Develop automation strategies using Flow Designer, Integration Hub, scheduled jobs, and orchestration capabilities.
• Evaluate business requirements and translate them into high‑quality technical solutions aligned with industry and platform best practices.
• Ensure platform scalability, maintainability, and adherence to governance standards.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce development standards across the Service Now ecosystem.
• Exposure to design and implement APIs/integrations with external systems using REST, SOAP, MID Servers, and Integration Hub spokes.
• Troubleshoot integration issues, optimize performance, and ensure secure data exchange.
• Enhance CMDB data quality using discovery, service mapping, and reconciliation rules.
• Configure ITOM Visibility components including Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management (optional if applicable).
• Work with stakeholders to maintain CMDB governance, lifecycle management, and audit readiness.
• Implement and customize GRC/IRM modules such as policy & compliance, risk management, and audit management.
• Configure Hardware Asset Management (HAM) life cycles, normalization, reconciliation, and asset workflows.
• Work closely with product owners, process owners, architects, and business teams to refine requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
• Provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior developers and administrators.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and backlog grooming.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of total experience including 3+ years of hands‑on Service Now development.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API, Jelly, Angular
  
  JS, UI Builder, and Flow Designer.
• Experience with at least 2 major modules such as ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, HAM, IRM, and CAM.
• Demonstrated experience in building complex workflows, integrations, and custom applications.
• Strong understanding of CMDB architecture, discovery probes, patterns, and data governance.
• Must be Certified System Administrator (CSA)
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain public trust clearance.

• Certified Application Developer (CAD)
• Service Now CIS (Certified Implementation Specialist) Certifications in ITSM, or Risk and Compliance (RC)

• Location: Hybrid – At least 4 days onsite in Tysons Corner, VA.
