IT Specialist Senior

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a IT Specialist Senior to to support a company focused on secure enterprise network systems within the Department of Defense, located Onsite in Quantico, VA, Sunday-Wednesday | 2pm - 12am Shifts (every other Wednesday remote). The IT Specialist Senior will monitor, troubleshoot, integrate, and maintain network Point of Presence (PoP) architecture, ensuring 24/7 operational readiness and security of mission-critical systems.

This role directly supports the defense of one of the largest enterprise networks in the world, enabling secure communications for hundreds of thousands of users worldwide.

• Monitor, operate, and maintain MCEN network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls
  , in a Tier II/III capacity.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting, optimization, and performance management across IP-based services (DNS, DHCP, routing protocols).
• Support network transport and security operations
  , including VPNs, IDS/IPS, load balancing, and vulnerability remediation.
• Design, implement, and oversee network upgrades and new installations
  , coordinating closely with cybersecurity teams.
• Sustain and recover enterprise, regional, and local network operations to ensure continuous mission availability
  .

• 10+ years of IT experience
  , with flexibility for equivalent hands‑on, non‑traditional experience.
• Strong experience in network administration, routing, switching, and troubleshooting
  , including Cisco environments (Fortinet and/or Juniper preferred).
• Experience supporting enterprise network security technologies such as firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network hardening.
• Bachelor’s degree (may be waived indefinitely with sufficient experience).
• Active Secret Clearance

• IAT Level II certification required (IAT III, IAM II, or IAM III also acceptable per DoD 8570).
• Desired:
  • CCNA or CCNP certification (may be required within 6–12 months).
  • Prior Marine Corps or military experience

• Salary Range: $95,000
