Position: Open Rank Clinical Faculty, Nephrology - Lynchburg

Overview

Join a leader in Nephrology and seize the momentum. The Department of Medicine’s Division of Nephrology at the University of Virginia, School of Medicine, is seeking applicants for a tenure‑ineligible Clinical Faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor at our Lynchburg and Farmville, Virginia area locations. Rank and compensation will be dependent upon qualifications. You will have the opportunity to join a group of twenty‑eight nephrologists and be associated with a well‑respected, academic health system.

The UVA Department of Medicine is dedicated to preventing disease and treating illness, educating and inspiring future leaders in internal medicine. We provide comprehensive care across all specialty disciplines and offer a very competitive salary and benefit package, plus relocation assistance.

Lynchburg is a lovely town close to the Blue Ridge Mountains, Charlottesville, and Roanoke, Virginia. Our health system includes 1,200 providers serving patients at the main UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville and at 24 primary and specialty care locations throughout Central and Northern Virginia. We have five long‑established dialysis units in Lynchburg, Amherst, Appomattox, and Alta‑Vista, including a vibrant home dialysis program.

Qualifications

Candidates must have an MD or equivalent, be board‑certified or board‑eligible in Internal Medicine and Nephrology by appointment start date, and have a commitment to clinical excellence and teaching. Candidates must also possess excellent oral and written communication skills and experience working across disciplines.

The selected candidate will undergo a background check and pre‑employment health and drug screening.
