Hours:

Bank hours available. Mornings, afternoons and evenings on both week days and weekends. Typical shifts are: 9am-4pm and 5pm-9.30pm.

Pay: £14.91 per hour Monday – Friday 8am – 8pm, £16.16 Monday – Friday 8pm – 8am, Weekends and Bank Holidays. There will also be an additional payment for holiday cover.

Driver required? Essential

Driving Clients Car? Yes, our clients Wheelchair Adapted Vehicle (WAV), automatic

Using Own Vehicle for work purposes? Occasional to attend meetings and trainings

Essential: An understanding of cognitive behaviour linked to Cerebral Palsy

Desirable: Experience working with adults with special needs, severe disabilities, and an interest in therapy

Family Pets: Annie has an ability dog and walking may be required.

Annie, born in 1989, has a good sense of humour and is very sociable. She loves being busy and is independently minded, she loves to achieve her goals. Annie really likes to go shopping, to the cinema and/or theatre. She enjoys going to work. Her family and care team are very important to her.

Annie has Cerebral Palsy which has mainly affected her mobility, coordination, and dexterity. She also has a visual impairment and cognitive challenges, she walks with the use of a frame and is dependent on a powered wheelchair for independent mobility.

You will be joining a small care team where you will be taking direction from the Case Manager and Team Leader to ensure that Annie receives all the care she needs, she requires assistance with her daily routines and personal care as required. She also requires domestic assistance and help with medication.

Annie also has an assistance (ability) Labrador, and part of the role will involve supporting Annie to care for her dog while on shift, including assisting with routines related to the dog’s welfare when required. Full guidance will be provided as part of the care plan.

You will be expected to provide companionship and may be required to take the client away on holiday and to go swimming on a weekly basis. You will also be expected to be able to promote and to enable Annie to pursue social outings and work. This job will suit someone who is calm but very proactive and able to bring lots of enthusiasm to the role.
