Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – Pelvic Medicine Overview
These roles provide direct patient care under the supervision of Registered Nurses or other Medical Professionals. The position focuses on assisting patients with activities of daily living, monitoring vital signs, and reporting changes in patient condition while maintaining a safe and clean environment.
Typical duties include taking patient histories, measuring and monitoring vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting with minor procedures.
Responsibilities- Assist patients with daily living activities and provide general support services under limited supervision.
- Assist in the delivery of routine patient care services and support lower-level employees.
- Perform tasks related to daily operational activities within a clinical setting.
- Broad knowledge of operational procedures and tools, obtained through extensive work experience and vocational or technical education.
- Background in patient care areas and a specialty license or certification in a clinical discipline or specialty.
- Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. - Experience:
None required. - Licensure: AHA BLS certification required. Current Medical Assistant Certification through a recognized national professional association such as AAMA, AMT, NAHP, ARMA, or NHA.
Standing for prolonged periods; frequently bending, stooping, and traveling. Ability to lift, push, or pull 20–50 lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious diseases.
CompensationHourly pay range: $18.37 – $28.47 per hour.
