Administer, perform and document all established department services and special procedures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document all aspects of patient care, working closely with all health‑care providers to facilitate and coordinate efficient, effective, quality health care. Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of applicable patient growth and development, assess data reflective of patient’s age‑specific needs, and provide care needed for all treated patient groups.
Implement and comply with all policies, procedures and standards of the department and the institution.
- Utilize appropriate resources to complete assignments within allocated time.
- Adapt to changes in volume/acuity demands and remain calm in crisis situations.
- Adhere to attendance and tardiness policy.
- Support responsible staffing decisions (cancels, place staff on hold/on call, call in on hold/on call staff appropriately).
- Demonstrate efforts to eliminate waste.
- Report to work on time and be ready to start work.
- Consistently utilize Kronos system to document hours of work.
- Demonstrate problem‑solving ability using appropriate resources.
- Serve as a resource as needed in an effective manner to unit and other departments.
- Be supportive of administrative decisions.
- Demonstrate teamwork and cooperation, and work well with others.
- Be flexible in meeting staffing and scheduling requirements of the department.
- Have working knowledge of the operation of the department or seek guidance from appropriate personnel.
- Report equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel and correctly complete work orders.
- Assure a safe and clean environment, keeping hallways clutter‑free and rooms neat.
- Utilize standard precautions by wearing protective equipment (goggles, gowns, gloves) and using correct hand‑washing techniques.
- Consistently strive to improve performance.
- Offer suggestions for improvement.
- Be receptive to new ideas.
- Be cognizant of age‑specific, cultural and physical needs of customers in providing service.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient/other information.
