Summary
The Day Support DSP Team Lead‑B is a support role that reports to the Day Support Manager at New Point Life Services. The position leads, inspires, and motivates the team to deliver compassionate, community‑based care for individuals with developmental disabilities. Responsibilities include managing community outings, training, vehicle upkeep, attendance, and transportation billing.
Responsibilities- Perform DSP job duties.
- Complete daily attendance for individuals attending Day Support and submit weekly attendance to the Finance Department.
- Ensure transportation billing forms are completed accurately before submission.
- Gather and prepare supplies needed for community outings (personal care items, fluids, PPE, etc.).
- Complete and distribute the Day Support monthly activity calendar.
- Post the daily schedule on the board or electronic communication.
- Prepare, disperse, and verify Community Outing Forms for each outing.
- Conduct on‑site visits to community outings and verify compliance with company policy.
- Ensure staff are trained on behavior plans and data collection, and that plans are up to date.
- Oversee behavior data collection to maintain accuracy and daily completion.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and communicate when replenishment is needed.
- Oversee the laundry room and kitchen areas, ensuring they are stocked, clean, and functioning.
- Monitor communication apps and company software daily (Band, Theraps, Quick Mar).
- Provide observation and feedback on shift function concerning the above items.
- Conduct onsite training on proper vehicle use and wheelchair securing for new staff during their first 30 days.
- Greet visitors and Support Coordinators, ensuring proper sign‑in and addressing questions.
- Correspond with case managers, family members, and potential individuals in a professional manner.
- Facilitate and participate in scheduled staff and management meetings, required trainings, and certifications.
- Collaborate with the manager to implement support instructions per individual plans.
- Provide support to the manager during vacations or off‑site.
- Attend intake/annual meetings as required.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- 1 year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of developmental disabilities.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Effective and persuasive communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and supervision.
- Flexibility to adapt during staff shortages across programs.
- Efficient organizational skills.
Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle objects, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and smell. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Generally not exposed to weather conditions; noise level usually moderate. Some travel may be required.
