These roles provide direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses. • Take patient histories and prepare patients for examinations.
• Measure and monitor vital signs and assist with minor procedures.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and maintain patient safety.
• Communicate information requiring explanation or interpretation.

• High School Graduate or Equivalent.
• No experience required.
• AHA Health Care Provider BLS Certification required.
• Certified to practice as a Nurse Aide in Virginia or meet one of the following:
• Successful completion of the UVa PCT Education Program or another approved PCT program.
• Documented proof of at least 1 year recent experience in a similar PCT role.
• Passage of a nationally recognized PCT Certification exam (e.g., NHA C‑PCT).
• Currently enrolled student nurses exempt from Certified Nurse Aide requirement.
• EMT or above certification with completion of UVA PCT Course within 6 months.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

• Frequently bending, stooping, and lifting 20–50 lbs. (may require up to 100 lbs for Home Health Aide).
• Ability to drive (Home Health Aide only).
• Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to write legibly.
• May be exposed to chemicals, blood, and infectious disease.

Position Compensation Range: $15.37 - $23.82 hourly.
