Description:
Our staff provides Non-medical counseling (NMC) services and outreach through a DoD MFLC program. The MFLC counseling approach is psycho-educational, tailored to military environments, helping participants anticipate and resolve challenges of military life. These services aid in preventing or reducing stressors that affect military and family readiness.
Location:
This position is remote; however, it is strongly preferred that the Supervisor resides within 50-60 miles of Colorado Springs, CO. Regular on-site engagement at the installation is needed. At a minimum, the Supervisor must be able to support monthly on-site installation engagements in Colorado Springs, CO.
Role:
Military and Family Life Counseling (MFLC) Supervisors directly supervise the performance and service delivery of an assigned group of MFLC Counselors. Supervisors are generally located within or adjacent to the local area of the MFLCs they supervise and may be geographically separated from Regional Managers to whom they report.
- Supervise a dedicated team of MFLC counselors; assist in hiring, delegate work, evaluate performance, approve time and attendance, set objectives, and address employee issues.
- Work directly with Installation Points of Contact to ensure efficient and effective service delivery and issue resolution.
- Coordinate onboarding and in-processing for new MFLCs.
- Facilitate on-demand and surge requirements in the team area.
- Monitor and assure MFLC service delivery per contract requirements.
- Mentor MFLCs to optimize performance, growth, and professional standards.
- Ensure MFLCs comply with government, corporate, and professional licensing/certification training requirements.
- Follow up with MFLCs to ensure correct delivery of approved training materials.
- Prepare reports and provide written and oral briefings to management and local/installation government representatives as required.
- Provide face-to-face confidential NMC and NMC outreach services and support Rotational MFLCs, On-demand MFLCs, and Surge MFLCs.
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years of post-license management or supervisory experience, managing a team in a behavioral or clinical-type setting.
- Must hold a valid independent license in the mental health field from any US state or territory (LCSW, MHC, MFT, LPCC, Psychologist).
- Must hold a Master’s degree from an accredited graduate program in a mental health-related field such as social work, psychology, marriage/family therapy, or counseling.
- Willing to meet local requirements for in-person installation visits without adding program cost.
- Ability to understand, apply, and maintain professional standards.
- Proven leadership skills and ability.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Highly developed written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- MFLC experience is strongly preferred/desired.
- An understanding of the military lifestyle and working with military family members.
- Working knowledge of military, state, federal, and local laws and resources.
