POSITION TITLE: Assistant Resident Care Director
DEPARTMENT: Nursing Administration
REPORTS TO: Resident Care Director
Position SummaryThe Assistant Resident Care Director duties include administering medication, supervising nursing assistants, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. The role requires a valid LPN or RN license, at least one year of full‑time clinical experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work within a compassionate, resident‑centered environment.
Qualifications- Valid LPN or RN license in good standing.
- Minimum of one year of full‑time clinical experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
- Physical ability to move, lift up to 25 pounds at a height of 5 feet, and transport residents.
- Commitment to resident rights, including the right to be free of restraints and abuse.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to operate a company vehicle if required.
- Commitment to maintaining safety, infection‑control procedures, and the prevention of pressure ulcers.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and document all care accurately.
- Provide direct nursing care and supervise nursing assistants.
- Communicate changes in residents’ condition to the Resident Care Director promptly.
- Assist residents with lifts, moves, and transports using proper body mechanics.
- Respond to inquiries from residents, visitors, and staff in a timely and courteous manner.
- Implement individualized care plans and participate in the care‑planning process.
- Maintain safety and infection‑control procedures, including hand hygiene and glove use.
- Elevate, reposition, and treat residents to prevent pressure ulcers and skin damage.
- Perform vital sign checks, weigh residents, collect specimens, and apply adjunct therapies.
- Ensure residents and families receive compassionate, high‑quality service.
- Report occupational exposures, injuries, or non‑compliance to appropriate personnel.
- Participate in life‑safety and emergency drills; assist with resident evacuation when necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality of PHI in accordance with HIPAA.
- Complete all assigned training and competency assessments.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
- Move intermittently throughout the workday.
- Cope with the mental and emotional challenges of the position.
- Maintain adequate vision and hearing, or use prosthetics to perform duties effectively.
- Pass a medical and physical examination required by the facility.
- Lift up to 25 pounds at 5 feet, and pull or push such weight up to 50 feet.
- Provide annual verification of a negative TB skin test.
