Job DutiesTo provide patient-centered nursing care to individuals and groups of patients with complex mental and physical illnesses through the planning, organization, direction, supervision, and evaluation of nursing staff who provide that care hospital-wide. Assures that this care is provided in accordance with established standards of care and practice and Institute policies and procedures.
To support the hospital mission by ensuring delivery of comprehensive person-centered patient care that promotes health and well-being as well as recovery through the supervision and direction of nursing staff on all units on a designated shift. Continuity of care is provided through collaboration with Unit Managers and other After-hours Nursing Supervisors on a 24-hour basis, seven days a week. To fully support the individuals at NVMHI, this position has been designated as essential to NVMHI operations.
Minimum Qualifications- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or in a compact state.
- Prior supervisory experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting required
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
