An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and passionate individual to join the team in the delivery of a new Perinatal Pelvic Health Service (PPHS) across Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust.
This role will involve working in partnership with the Perinatal Pelvic Health Midwife, Women's Physiotherapists and the lead consultant for PPHS to support pregnant women and birthing people, contributing to education and specialist care provision during their perinatal journey.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder will work with the perinatal pelvic health team providing specialist clinical skills, administrative and organisational support with minimal guidance, and will also be required to provide leadership in relation to PPHS referral screening and booking processes, ensuring that an efficient, cost effective and high quality service is delivered to all users.

Job responsibilitiesWill work with the perinatal pelvic health team providing specialist clinical skills, administrative and organisational support with minimal guidance. Will accept responsibility for initial screening assessments and to facilitate appropriate pathways and management of PPHS, physiotherapy and urogynaecology patients. Will work independently to support, improve and evaluate the patient pathway from referral to discharge. Will liaison with clinical staff, MDT, admin, patients, management and external partners as necessary.
Will manage a caseload of suitable patients independently and be able to work with infrequent supervision from Womens health physiotherapists and the Perinatal Pelvic Health Midwife. This may involve initial screening of patients or delivering prescribed treatment following physiotherapy assessment. Will provide care and therapy interventions for individual patients with guidance from the physiotherapist, following their assessment. Will implement treatment within scope of protocol Will assist registered practitioners with complex treatments Will organise and deliver group therapy sessions and classes, which may be virtual or face to face.
Will communicate with patients and carers using a variety of communication strategies and tools to ensure information is understood and treatment is progressed. Will take responsibility for supporting the education of staff Will implementing service user evaluation of current pathways and exploring potential for change. Will lead on implementing and evaluating patient led questionnaire prior to attendance. Will be responsible for administrative and organisational support to the PPHS team, Will take part in and be an active role in organising in-service training for the midwives, physiotherapy and MDT team.
Will participate in communication strategies for patient improvement, including updating and creating new leaflets, website information and videos. Will collect and collate data to facilitate the production of reports and audits relevant to the service To be responsible for ensuring reported faults or problems e.g. computer/ equipment within the service, are actioned by the relevant departments. To be responsible for the management of PPHS referrals and ensure that they are registered and managed in line with the department policy.
Ensure that each patient receives a professional and customer focused service either in person or on the telephone, ensuring the best patient experience at all times. To monitor waiting lists and escalate delays to the Clinical Leads in advance of potential problems. To use IT packages to compile reports to assist with the data analysis of appointment scheduling, session usage, waiting times and DNA rates.
To communicate with all levels of hospital staff, outside agencies and members of the public in a professional and effective manner. To have the ability to deal with conflict in a diplomatic and tactful manner. Act as a first point of contact within the service for patients who have enquiries regarding advice, waiting lists and appointments. To manage own workload, and at times work independently of others.
