Time Type: FULL TIME
Shift: ROTATING
Performs a variety of patient care and administrative support functions under the supervision of a Medical Center Registered Nurse (RN) in an inpatient or outpatient setting. Individual contributors spend the majority of their time in the delivery of support services or activities, typically under supervision. May be required to assist with ventilator support, vasopressors, intravascular monitoring and other critical care monitoring as part of a team‑focused environment.
Minimum Requirements- Education:
High School Graduate or Equivalent - Experience:
No experience required - Licensure:
American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS Certification required - Certified Nurse Aide or PCT licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia, or one of the following criteria:
- Successful completion of the UVA PCT Education Program; or another NPDS‑approved PCT Education Program
- At least 1 year of recent (within last 2 years) experience in a similar PCT role or completion of a written exam and demonstration of clinical skills during a 6‑month probationary period
- Passage of a nationally recognized and accredited PCT Certification exam (e.g., National Health career Association – C‑PCT)
- Or current student nurse exempted by completion of Medical/Surgical Clinical Experience and Didactic; or EMT or above certification with successful completion of the UVA PCT Course within 6 months
Job requires frequently bending/stooping and driving for home health aides only. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly; ability to lift/push/pull 20–50 lbs and >100 lbs (home health aides only). Exposure to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease possible.
