Clinical Health Psychologist - Ryan White HIV Program – Department of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences

We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Health Psychologist to be a lead mental health provider in the Ryan White HIV Program. The program provides whole-person care for approximately 1000 people with HIV. As a Clinical Health Psychologist, the faculty member will play a vital role in providing psychological and behavioral care for people with HIV and enhancing overall well‑being and quality of life.

• Psychological Assessment and Treatment:
  Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and provide evidence-based individual psychotherapy (8 four‑hour sessions per week).
• Behavioral Health Integration:
  Collaborate with interdisciplinary health‑care teams to integrate behavioral health services into the medical care setting.
• Education:
  
  Opportunities for teaching with Infectious Diseases residents and fellows and supervising post‑doctoral fellows.
• Program Development:
  Partner with clinic leadership to develop and implement new programs, assist with grant writing, programmatic evaluation, and dissemination of best practices.

The University of Virginia Medical Center is located on the main university grounds in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Candidates must have a PhD/PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA‑accredited program. Postdoctoral experience in Health Psychology is strongly preferred. Candidates must be license‑eligible in the Commonwealth of Virginia and must be licensed by date of hire. Board certification from the American Board of Professional Psychology is required for clinical privileges.
