Help us expand behavioral health access and grow our team! The Department of Pediatrics at the UVA Health School of Medicine is seeking a full‑time clinical track faculty psychologist in the Section of Pediatric Psychology and Behavioral Health to help develop and direct a Behavioral Consult‑Liaison Service and provide one day a week of outpatient services in subspecialty integrated care or at our new Neurodevelopmental and Behavioral Health Clinic.
Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.
- Behavioral CL program development and leadership in collaboration with our current CL psychologist
- Providing psychological evaluations for children and adolescents admitted for a variety of medical and surgical concerns, including functional disorders and youth with eating disorders or suicidal ideation who are awaiting placement for more intensive psychiatric services
- Conducting short‑term interventions for youth admitted to the medical units or awaiting placement in the emergency department
- Providing consultation to medical and interprofessional teams
- Providing outpatient psychological evaluation and treatment for youth in an integrated subspecialty medical setting or in a new outpatient behavioral health clinic. There is a preference for a psychologist to work with gastrointestinal concerns such as functional abdominal pain, inflammatory bowel disease, and rumination disorder; we are open to other specialties as well (20%)
- Teaching medical fellows, residents, and medical students
- Participation in departmental and health system committees
Successful candidates must possess a PhD or equivalent from an APA‑accredited program, have completed an APA‑accredited internship, be licensed or license‑eligible in Virginia, demonstrate cultural humility, and be skilled in interprofessional practice in a complex, academic medical environment.
Candidates must have training in clinical child and pediatric psychology, and post‑doctoral experience in pediatric consultation liaison is preferred.
