The Respiratory Therapist – Journey Traveler must travel nationwide for 13‑week assignments, working in various settings under general supervision and medical direction. You’ll exercise judgment in accordance with physician treatment plans, manage patient/family assessment, resource management, care facilitation, and discharge planning. Key duties include administering prescribed therapy and medications, observing and recording responses, providing in‑service training to residents, families, and staff, and ensuring life‑support systems are maintained.
You will also perform airway care, ventilator management, troubleshoot equipment, participate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and document all interactions in the medical record. CPR certification is required.
- Initiates, administers, evaluates response to, and documents all therapy modalities per departmental procedure, including intermittent positive pressure breathing, hand‑held nebulizer, chest physical therapy modalities (percussion, vibration, breathing and cough retraining), deep tracheal suctioning, incentive spirometry, sputum induction.
- Completion of an NBRC‑approved and accredited respiratory therapy program with one year of clinical experience under medical direction.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification and State licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
- Availability to travel and temporarily reside in locations outside of your primary home.
Posted Salary Range: USD $59.00 - $62.00 /Hr.
