**** Overview
* * Performs a variety of complex specialized tasks utilizing ultrasound to assist the physician in providing quality care in a medical office setting.

** What you will do
*** Ensures correct coding and charging of ultrasound procedures and supplies.
* Assists the physicians in the development of new ultrasound techniques and protocols.
* Provides for an efficient and respectful patient encounter and thoroughly explains the procedure to the patient so they have a demonstrated understanding of what is going to take place. Acts as a liaison between physician and patient, providing physicians with information to assist with proper diagnosis and treatment modality. Follows physician protocols appropriate for the ultrasound appointment type.
* Conscientiously observes policies and procedures to ensure the safety of the patients and adheres to HIPAA regulations.
* Evaluates the quality of the ultrasound and determines if any additional films or follow up is necessary. Maintains records of all ultrasounds completed in the office and archives as necessary.
* Reports any abnormalities or issues to the physicians and prepares a written summary of findings. Efficiently and accurately utilizes ultrasound techniques to detect abnormalities.
** Qualifications*
* ** Education
* ** Program Graduate, ARDMS approved school/program or registry eligible (Required)
** Experience
* ** 1 year Ultrasonographer experience preferably in an OBGYN practice (Preferred)
** Licenses and Certifications
*** Certified Ultrasound Technician - Allied Health Upon Hire(Required)
* CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(Required)
