Responsibilities- Perform appropriate ultrasound and plethysmography procedures and record anatomical, pathological, and physiological data for interpretation by a physician.
- Assist the physician in gathering sonographic data necessary to diagnose arterial and venous conditions and diseases and identify normal and abnormal flow dynamics.
- Obtain, review, and integrate pertinent patient medical history and supporting clinical data to facilitate optimum diagnostic results.
- Provide patient education related to medical ultrasound.
- Record and process sonographic data.
- Provide patient services in a variety of medical settings.
- Perform quality assurance checks on equipment, ensuring proper safety standards are met.
- Education:
Must meet the education requirement for diagnostic medical ultrasound or echocardiography ultrasound certification with either CCI or ARDMS;
Associate’s degree preferred. - Experience:
Minimum two years of clinical experience. - License/Certification:
Credentials from ARDMS or CCI as a Registered Vascular Technologist or Registered Vascular Specialist required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
Job requires standing and sitting for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping and traveling;
Repetitive motion: scanning involves holding a transducer in place on the patient’s body for periods of time and maintaining the sonographer’s body in position, allowing access to anatomy being scanned. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly; ability to lift/push/pull > 100lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, fumes, noise, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
$31.98 - $51.17 hourly
