POSITION SUMMARY:

An OT2 consistently provides effective direct care to a variety of complex patients. The OT2 acts as a role model and supervisor for junior staff, helps identify patients with unmet occupational therapy needs, and expands clinical knowledge and skills beyond entry level. The OT2 shares knowledge through in-services and participates as an active member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team. The OT2 may supervise other staff, provide feedback for improved clinical practice, and begin to assume a leadership role with mentoring.

The OT2 is expected to serve as a primary clinical instructor for students.

• Performs occupational therapy evaluations according to professional standards and departmental guidelines.
• Demonstrates knowledge of intervention options and executes a program of skilled occupational therapy intervention.
• Actively participates in professional growth of self and others.
• Actively participates in quality improvement and program development.

Position Compensation Range: $33.27 - $53.23 Hourly

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy

Experience: 6 months relevant experience

Liscensure: Licensed to practice in Occupational Therapy in the Commonwealth of Virginia. New grads must be licensed within 6 months of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

Job requires frequently bending/stooping/traveling (distance: ½ mile). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills;
Attention to detail and ability to write legibly;
Ability to lift/push/pull 20 – 50lbs. May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
