Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct evaluations on referred patients.
  • Plan and implement comprehensive treatment programs, including discharge planning, patient/family education, and follow-up or continued care recommendations.
  • Document evaluation results and services in accordance with hospital and department guidelines.
  • Participate as a member of a self-directed departmental team and an interdisciplinary patient care team.
  • Provide clinical instruction to OT and OTA students as needed; offer training and education to staff.
  • Qualifications

    Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements: Licensed (or eligible) by the Commonwealth of Virginia as an Occupational Therapist.

    Experience: From new graduate to up to 2 years of work experience.

    Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Occupational Therapy;
    Master’s or Doctoral Degree preferred.

    Additional Requirements
    • Independent action in evaluation and treatment of routine diagnoses.
    • Ability to set schedules, manage time, and participate in interdisciplinary rounds.
    • Supervision of Rehab Technicians, COTA staff, volunteers, and students (if applicable).
    • Physical requirements include lifting 50-100 lbs, frequent bending, walking, climbing, reaching, and other activities.
    • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and frequent customer interactions.
