MRI Technologist

Utilize MRI scanners to capture diagnostic images ordered by physicians, following instructions precisely and ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Productivity / Fiscal Responsibility- Complete assignments within allocated time, adapting to volume and acuity changes.
- Maintain calmness in crisis situations and adhere to attendance policies.
- Support responsible staffing decisions and minimize waste.
- Use Kronos to document hours and demonstrate problem‑solving skills.
- Provide effective resource support to the unit and other departments.
- Show support for administrative decisions, teamwork, and cooperation.
- Remain flexible with staffing and scheduling.
- Understand and follow safe operation procedures for the department equipment.
- Report malfunctions and complete work orders accurately.
- Keep environment clean, hallways uncluttered, and wear appropriate protective equipment.
- Consistently seek performance improvements and suggest new ideas.
- Consider age‑specific, cultural, and physical needs of patients.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Provide accurate, concise reports and keep the Director informed of notable situations.
- Interact with patients, doctors, and visitors with grace and tact.
- Build patient/family confidence.
- Attend staff meetings and complete in‑service training.
- Participate in orientation and preceptorships.
- Identify self‑learning needs and seek resources.
- Join hospital clubs and committees; attend mandatory in‑services annually.
- Make independent decisions with minimal supervision.
- Display professional pride and adhere to HCA’s Code of Conduct.
- Prepare MRI scanner, perform quality control tests, and maintain inventory and cleanliness.
- Execute MRI procedures following approved protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Obtain high‑quality images, adjusting protocols as needed.
- Ensure patient safety by screening contraindications and using protective devices.
- Control patient flow to meet time constraints.
- Provide compassionate care, explain procedures, and coordinate with medical units.
- Review exams for technical accuracy and ensure correct transmission to PACS.
- Administer IV access and contrast, manage IV tubing, and monitor patients.
- Utilize proper sterile techniques for interventional procedures.
- Perform reconstructions, 3‑D imaging, and MRI per protocol.
- Keep ARRT licensure updated and enter exam charges accurately.
- Take call as assigned and assist with additional duties.
- Graduate of an AMA‑approved School of Radiologic Technology; maintain continuing education credits for ARRT licensure.
