Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant; LPTA Outpatient

Overview

Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant Outpatient role at Inova Health. This is a full-time position (M-F, 40 hours/week) requiring 2 late evenings until 7:00 PM. • Complete daily progress notes reflecting patient responses to treatment and status relative to the treatment plan and discharge needs or summaries when applicable.
• Instruct ancillary staff in patient positioning, mobility, and caregiving. Educate patients and/or families in home exercise programs, transfers, caregiving, home safety, and use of adaptive equipment.
• Document clearly and concisely within established time frames to support continuity of treatment and reimbursement.
• Include families/caregivers in education/training as appropriate. Collaborate with team members and be open to feedback and change.
• Coordinate with families, physicians, or other healthcare team members to address patient/family needs in a timely manner to facilitate effective treatment plans.
• Modify treatment methods and overall plan as patients progress or regress.

• Experience: New graduate of a licensed physical therapy assistant program.
• Education: Associate's degree from a licensed physical therapy assistant program.
• Licensure: Currently licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant in Virginia.
• Certification: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
