Introduction
Are you an experienced problem solver with a natural curiosity and analytical mind? Do you have experience supporting police operations and criminal investigations, and a passion for finding solutions to challenging law‑enforcement problems? If so, consider joining the Prince William County Police Department as a Senior Public Safety Analyst (Senior Criminal Intelligence Analyst). This role will help develop analytical strategies and plans to prevent and solve crimes, building safer neighborhoods.
AboutThis Role
- Research and analyze law‑enforcement data to identify criminal activity, patterns, and trends.
- Forecast trends to aid in staffing and deployment of personnel.
- Provide investigative support to policing efforts.
- Assist in training new analysts and conduct peer review of analytical work products and methodologies.
- Collaborate with the strategic analysis team to expand real‑time analytical capabilities and enhance operational efficiency.
High school diploma or G.E.D. and 5 years of relevant experience in data, crime, or intelligence analysis within law enforcement, intelligence agencies, public safety settings, or related research.
Preferences- Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, statistics, business, criminal intelligence, or a related field.
- Experience in data, crime, or intelligence analysis within law enforcement or public safety.
- Proficiency in analytic software, Microsoft Office, and open‑source tools.
- Familiarity with GIS mapping, presentation software, and data visualization techniques.
All employees considered for hire by the Police Department are subject to a polygraph examination and a thorough background investigation.
Work Schedule8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with occasional remote work based on operational demands. Incumbents are also subject to rotating on‑call and/or call‑back schedules.
Salary and BenefitsSalary range: $83,272.80 – $97,968.00 per year.
