Description

The Person al Banker I provides customers with accurate information regarding the Bank’s products and services, handles customer inquiries, and resolves customer complaints. The Person al Banker protects the Bank’s image and contributes positively to the achievement of the Bank’s overall goals and objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Establish and promote cordial relationships with customers, ensuring prompt attendance to inquiries and solving problems to grant maximum satisfaction.
  • Inform and suggest new banking products to customers.
  • Provide information to customers on their accounts such as balance, account status, and check or payment clearing history.
  • Ensure that all the Bank’s policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines are strictly complied with in the performance of duties.
  • Ensure customers’ confidential information is properly protected and used only for official purposes.
  • Improve customers’ banking experience by ensuring prompt attention to needs and timely resolution of banking challenges.
  • Conduct effective checking sales presentations resulting in appropriate account recommendations and requests for the customer’s business.
  • Introduce customers to the Tell-A-Friend program and distribute Tell-A-Friend coupons with enthusiasm during each transaction.
  • Help customers understand in-person and digital banking options, allowing them to choose the channel that best fits their preferences.
  • Expand technology penetration by proactively using the customer convenience channels offered by the Bank; personally using the services to advocate for customers.
  • Open new accounts and service existing accounts as outlined by procedures, ensuring required documentation is received and archived at account opening.
  • Minimize deposit exceptions and address them quickly to reduce risk of account closure due to documentation issues.
  • Make qualified referrals to banking partners such as Wealth, Insurance, Mortgage, Commercial, and Treasury Services.
  • Perform branch operational duties as assigned by Branch Manager in accordance with procedures.
  • Participate in marketing and awareness campaigns to grow the customer base.
  • Consult customers on consumer loan options, explain terms, process loan applications with accuracy, discuss debt ratios and consumer reports, and ensure proper loan documentation for consumer non-real estate loans; resolve lien perfection issues promptly if needed.
  • Serve as Teller, maintaining a cash drawer, accepting deposits, cashing checks, processing cash advances and loan payments, and other teller transactions in a accurate and courteous manner while adhering to regulatory and operational procedures.
  • Complete training within the expected time frames.
  • In some markets, may handle cash vault duties including end-of-day balancing, currency/log updates, and weekly currency orders in accordance with procedures.
  • Enter teller outages into the electronic workflow, ensuring balances align with the general ledger.
  • Review and add notes to the teller over/short report daily and ensure outages are corrected.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One to five years of banking experience
  • Effective listening skills demonstrated by the ability to listen, understand, and contribute solutions
  • Patience and willingness to help others in solving problems with a positive attitude
  • Proven track record of outstanding customer service
  • Proficiency using banking platforms and common office software and systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to influence people
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally and to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to sit in front of a computer for extended periods
  • Ability to travel, as needed

The salary range is based on market data associated with the position and where the pay rate falls within the range is commensurate with experience, education, and other qualifications.
