GLOBAL CONSULTING INTERNATIONAL (GCI)

Location: Northern Virginia / Hybrid

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer

We are a growing small business government contractor supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) seeking a Controller / Director of Finance to lead day‑to‑day financial operations. This role is hands‑on, responsible for accounting, government contract billing, compliance, and financial reporting in a regulated environment. The position works closely with the CEO and external advisors and has a clear growth path as the company scales.

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting
• Manage government contract accounting, billing, and revenue recognition
• Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, HSAR, and DCAA requirements
• Track and maintain indirect cost rates and support pricing activities
• Support DCAA, DCMA, and DHS audits; maintain audit‑ready documentation
• Manage AP/AR, payroll, and cash flow monitoring
• Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Coordinate with external CPA firms, auditors, and fractional CFO support

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
• Government contracting experience required (DoD and/or DHS preferred)
• Strong working knowledge of FAR/DFARS and DCAA audit processes
• Experience with government‑compliant accounting systems – Deltek Costpoint
• Hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and comfortable in a small business environment

• CPA or CMA certification
• Experience supporting cost‑plus, T&M, and fixed‑price contracts
• Experience in a small business or high‑growth environment
