Join our team as a Junior Underwriter, where you’ll assist in reviewing merchant applications, analysing financial data, and supporting credit decisions in a fast-paced fintech environment. With opportunities based in Utah or Virginia, this role is ideal for someone eager to develop their underwriting career, build strong risk-assessment skills, and collaborate closely with experienced underwriters and the sales team.

Fundomate Technologies Inc. is a technology fueled business funder looking for a Junior Underwriter to join our growing Underwriting Team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Application Review & Data Analysis:
    Assist with background checks, credit reports, and financial analyses for small business funding applications.
  • Documentation & Verification:
    Review and validate business data for accuracy, confirm business and industry types, conduct phone interviews with business owners.
  • Risk Assessment Support:
    Be the first to review applications, request additional information, or prepare file summaries for senior underwriters. Evaluate creditworthiness of small businesses and their owners.
  • Collaboration & Workflow:
    Assist with partner requests as it relates to negotiating funding structures or acquiring additional information such as credit card processing or bank statements. Maintain accurate notes and validate internal systems data.
Qualifications:
  • Please note that this position requires you to be located in either Utah or Virginia.
  • Prior experience in MCA, alternative lending, financial services, or underwriting is preferred but not required.
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills.
  • Basic understanding of general credit policies and principles.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at a time and prioritize accordingly.
  • Solutions oriented and skilled at tactful negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a financial or quantitative field.
