As the “face” of Curtis Lane, you will establish and identify customer needs, provide effective communication, build rapport, and maintain trust. Job SummaryThe Rental Advisor plays a critical role in ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and maintaining profitability. Responsibilities include problem solving, building strong customer relationships, resolving inquiries to full resolution, and coordinating equipment logistics.
Duties and Responsibilities- Maintain clear and organized documentation and initiate/follow up on processes to assure a smooth rental experience.
- Consistently document outreach activities and “cold call” efforts to meet expected metrics.
- Assure optimal rental revenue by reviewing performance metrics, anticipating trends, troubleshooting availability, and negotiating scheduling of rentals.
- Maintain accurate assessment of equipment inventory and initiate appropriate workflows for maintenance and repair.
- Consistently exemplify company core values and provide genuine care to others.
- Collaborate with team, customers, business partners, and vendors to achieve best rental outcomes.
- Complete assigned training promptly and communicate training needs and concerns.
- Maintain a clean and organized working environment at all times.
- Anticipate team needs and communicate inventory status effectively.
- Prefer mechanical aptitude or experience with Bobcat machinery.
- Demonstrate safe habits and proactively address safety concerns.
- Seek to improve knowledge and awareness of customer needs.
- Assess competition and propose pricing adjustments.
- Collaborate with accounting on credit and collections concerns.
- Maintain availability to team via in‑person, phone, intercom, radio, email, or text communication.
- Understand construction phases involved in civil and commercial projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned to enhance customer service and overall performance.
- At least 1 year of equipment rental experience; dealer environment preferred.
- Experience with scheduling, problem solving, and service recovery.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and listening skills.
- Experience using proprietary system applications.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities.
- Comfortable handling ambiguous information with critical thinking.
- Detail oriented and able to perform documentation activities as directed.
- Professional demeanor and positive interactions.
- Adherence to company requirements, standards, policies, and procedures.
- Experience meeting expected performance metrics.
May lift, carry, push, pull up to 75 lbs frequently; requires walking, climbing stairs/ladders, bending, crouching, crawling; use of tools/machinery requiring vision, coordination, and dexterity; work indoors, standing up to 100% of schedule, and may work outdoors in varying weather up to 30% of schedule.
