An established multidisciplinary engineering and consulting firm is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join its growing team in Virginia. This is an excellent opportunity to work on impactful water resources and infrastructure projects that support sustainable development and resilient communities.

The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of engineers and technical specialists on a variety of projects including hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, stormwater management, stream restoration, bridge and culvert design, and coastal resiliency initiatives
. The role offers exposure to both public and private sector projects and provides opportunities for professional growth and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling (1D and 2D) using tools such as HEC-RAS and Hydro

    CAD.
  • Assist with the design of stormwater systems, culverts, and stream restoration projects.
  • Prepare technical reports, engineering plans, specifications, and permitting documentation.
  • Support task management, project budgets, and proposal preparation.
  • Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members.
Required Skills
  • Experience with AutoCAD, GIS, HEC-RAS, and similar engineering software.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local environmental permitting processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Water Resources Engineering.
  • 3–5+ years of relevant water resources or civil engineering experience.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred, or currently working toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
