Job SummaryWe are currently seeking an Electrical/I&C Engineer or Senior Engineer to support major upgrade and refurbishment projects at Surry Power Station in Surry, Virginia. The position will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Responsibilities- Experience with nuclear power plant design, including the Electrical Power Distribution System and/or the Instrumentation and Control Systems at the station.
- Experience with supporting development of design change documentation.
- Experience with working in a broad range of Electrical Power and I&C issues both on the component and system level.
- Performs and/or reviews engineering calculations, analysis, specifications, and engineering changes (EC).
- Provides cost analysis as needed and develops recommendations based on calculations (e.g., cost for equipment upgrade) for management review.
- Exercises independence in evaluating, selecting, and applying standards or well‑defined engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Uses independent judgment in prioritizing and making moderately complex adaptations and modifications.
- Performs other duties as requested or assigned.
- Engineer:
Must have 3+ years of Electrical or Computer Engineering experience. - Senior Engineer:
Must have 5+ years of Electrical or Computer Engineering experience. - Staff Engineer:
Must have 8+ years of Electrical or Computer Engineering experience.
- Previously qualified in or designed engineering change modifications using the Standard Design Process.
- Ability to interpret codes, regulations, and practices.
- Equally effective working independently or in a team environment.
- Proven decision‑making skills.
- Ability to process information quickly and effectively manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willing to get into the field and perform walk‑downs and support of testing and troubleshooting of plant modifications.

Must have at least one year of Nuclear power experience.
Bachelor’s in Engineering, Electrical or I&C. (Equivalency not accepted in lieu of required degree.)
Licenses, Certifications, or Qualifications DescriptionNote:
Dominion Energy minimum experience and education requirements may exceed stated ANSI standards and candidates must meet the Dominion Energy minimum requirements.
For Nuclear employees, this ANSI standard must be met, all of which is met or exceeded in the Engineer series job summaries with the exception of the Nuclear Power experience requirement of at least 1 year:

Education requirements:
Baccalaureate or associate degree in engineering or related science. - Minimum experience for the position:
Related experience which shall include 2 years;
Nuclear power plant experience to include 1 year.
