I. PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Materials Coordinator reports to the Procurement/Materials Lead and manages the receipt, tracking and issuance of critical materials and equipment. The coordinator proactively improves material handling methods and communicates with all project team members.

II. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Receive, issue and track materials and equipment; coordinate and review delivery documents to/from site.
  • Interpret material take-offs from project drawings and validate supplied drawings.
  • Expedite materials and services to meet project schedules.
  • Prepare material data packages and conduct material readiness reviews as part of the Construction Work Package cycle.
  • Coordinate with the project team (QC, Procurement, Project Management, Field Engineering) and shipping/receiving personnel.
  • Verify cycle counts and maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Enter receipts and related data into the project database (SAP or similar).
  • Follow the Project Material Control Plan, Quality Assurance, and Receiving Inspection requirements.
  • Ensure materials are stored safely and according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Adhere to project Health, Safety, Environmental, Code of Ethics and Business Conduct requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
III. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
  • Minimum 3 years of engineering and/or construction project experience, with a focus on materials management and logistics.
  • Engineering or Engineering Technology education is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for large teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with SharePoint and SAP applications is desirable.
  • Knowledge of ASME Section III, N285, N286 codes and standards is an asset.
  • Experience with Tool Hound is an asset.
  • Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
