Senior Marine Engineer – T-AO 187 Class
Join CACI International Inc as a Senior Marine Engineer – T‑AO 187 Class. This full‑time position focuses on supporting the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and the Military Sealift Command (MSC) through engineering leadership on the T‑AO 187 Outyear Engineering Requirements Assessment (OERA).

- Provide systems engineering support for T‑AO 187 Class vessels.
- Support shipboard engineering systems.
- Work with stakeholders.
- Use, maintain, and improve document authoring and drafting practices and tools to develop reports, manuals, and drawings with high efficiency and accuracy.
- Lead the team to carry out Outyear Engineering Requirements for various classes of ships, including the T‑AO 187 Double Hull Class.
- Design and develop interfaces between ship systems and new equipment.
- Author and develop design reports to accompany in‑service modifications to ship systems.
- Develop advanced proficiency in 2D drafting practices to improve in‑service modification.
- BSME in Marine Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience aboard a T‑AO 187 Class oiler, ideally on the Double Hull (T‑AO 201, 203, or 204).
- Experience with government contracts and in‑service ship repair and ship new construction for DOD vessels.
Project Management skills. - Ability to write concise reports and specifications in English with minimal oversight in MS Word, making use of styles, fields, and references.
- Extensive experience in ship design, modification, or maintenance projects.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work alone on individual projects with minimal supervision and with other engineering disciplines on a team.
- Ability to interface with team members, technical leads, and project managers.
- Ability to review and apply US Navy and/or US commercial ship design requirements, including DOD acquisition, system safety, and testing processes.
- Good verbal English communication skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Ability to obtain a clearance.
- Active U.S. Coast Guard License 1AE Unlimited Horsepower or Greater.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D.
- Chief Engineer experience in shipboard or shipyard role.
- 15 years shipboard and/or shipyard design, operation, or repair experience.
- Engineering and Technical Authority (E&TA) Familiarization training.
- Apply working knowledge of maritime regulations, classification society rules, and industry standards to ensure compliance.
- Provide technical support for in‑service vessels throughout their lifecycle.
- Active Secret clearance.

$90,300 – $189,600. The range reflects factors such as location, contract type, and experience. We offer competitive compensation, benefits, and development opportunities.
