General Description:
The Internship Coordinator will assist with outreach to companies and organizations that recruit students for internships or other work-based learning and strengthen recruiting relationships with existing employers.
* This position is eligible for telework after completion of state one-year probationary period. *
- The Coordinator will work closely with Workforce and Academic departments and programs to assess and coordinate planning to provide appropriate opportunities as needed.
- Act as the main point of contact for employers seeking information about internships at the College.
- Representing the College or Career Planning and Development at external or internal events.
- Manage and support modules in Career Connection/Simplicity and assist employers, faculty, and student users.
- Manage data collection about internships and deliver reports.
- Main point of contact to the Office Academic Affairs regarding issues related to credit based coordinated internship courses
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSAs /Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to work with college faculty and staff in support of internship experiences that support student academic and personal development
- Skills and familiarity with online career technologies and management systems, preferably Symplicity
- Ability to articulate the needs and concerns of historically under-represented and ethnically diverse populations
- Excellent customer service skills, to include the ability to effectively follow up and follow through
- Effective written, interpersonal and presentations skills, with small and large groups
- Effective problem-solving and organizational skills
- Ability to use and analyze data to evaluate and improve programs
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently as well as part of a team
- Experience supporting and developing work-based-learning or internship experiences.
- Experience in counseling, human resources, social service, college or college bound programs.
- Experience in data collection and outcomes assessment
- Experience in academic program engagement.
- Experience with planning and coordinating events.
- Experience in project management
- Proficient in computer usage, including People Soft, Navigate Student Information System, or career management systems such as Symplicity
- Partnership building experience.
