Engineering Adjunct (Summer and Fall 2026)

Germanna Community College is a two‑year public institution of higher education in the Virginia Community College System. Position Summary
:
Adjunct faculty are responsible for planning and teaching courses in Engineering both in person and online. The role may involve up to 12 credit hours in fall and spring and up to 8 credit hours in summer session.

Location
:
Virginia. Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance or be willing to relocate.

• Teach specified engineering classes.
• Develop course syllabi and instructional materials.
• Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of GCC and the VCCS.
• Maintain current competence in the discipline.

Provide quality instruction, meet assigned classes regularly, submit required records and reports, teach prescribed courses with established texts, and adhere to the statement on professional ethics in accordance with College policies.

• Master’s Degree with at least eighteen graduate semester hours in Engineering.
• Ability to effectively teach in classrooms and online.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to use instructional technology.
• Experience with or willingness to learn artificial intelligence tools.
• Prior teaching experience (preferred).
• Work experience in the field.
• Experience with online teaching.
• Substantial experience with innovative teaching and developing online courses in synchronous and asynchronous learning environments at a regionally accredited institution.
