Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated educator to join our team at Orange Elementary as a Kindergarten Teacher. In this full‑time position, you will create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, and academic growth. You will implement age‑appropriate curriculum and engage students in hands‑on activities that promote exploration and creativity. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to early childhood education and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and meet the diverse needs of all students.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for learning.
• Assess and monitor student progress using various assessment tools and methods, providing feedback to students and parents.
• Collaborate with other educators and staff to enhance the educational experience and address individual student needs.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom activities.
• Organize and participate in school events, parent‑teacher conferences, and community outreach programs.
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom, ensuring that materials and resources are readily available for student use.
• Stay current with best practices in early childhood education through professional development and collaboration with peers.

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification or license for Kindergarten education or willing to obtain a Virginia Teaching License.
• Experience working with young children in an educational setting preferred.
• Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies for early learners.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
• Ability to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment that promotes student success.
• Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance teaching and learning.
