SUMMER SCHOOL COORDINATOR:
Elementary
The Coordinator will collaborate with the Central Office Instruction team to provide a comprehensive summer program for students across all three elementary schools. The program will provide targeted core instruction using engaging and relevant activities for identified students.
Specific responsibilities include the following:- Coordinate all aspects of the summer school program including planning, instruction, budgeting, communication, transportation, reporting, scheduling, training, and staffing.
- Oversee the nurse on staff.
- Interview, select, evaluate, and support the faculty and staff.
- Work with the instruction team to support teachers in the implementation of high-quality learning experiences.
- Communicate on a daily basis with students, parents, teachers, support staff, community members, and central office personnel.
- Collaborate with school teams to identify students from each elementary school to attend the summer session.
- Provide and facilitate school-wide collaboration, direction and accountability.
- Conduct informal and formal observations and evaluate summer school staff and teachers.
- Facilitate consultation with special education staff.
- Oversee the development of daily schedules including procedures for taking student and staff attendance.
- Coordinate with the instruction team to provide training to staff during the work day prior to summer school and procedures for the submission grades at the end.
- Collaborate with the building administrators to assign classrooms for summer school classes.
- Participate in creating, implementing and communicating expectations, procedures, and practices.
- Attend virtual and in-person meetings and central office meetings (planning meetings begin in early spring) as needed.
- Establish and maintain appropriate relationships with the home, school, and community.
- Coordinate with the school nurse to plan for student health needs.
- Assume responsibility for security of the areas utilized at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with school division policies and practices.
Skills and Abilities
- Significant knowledge of federal and state laws governing the education of all students and students with disabilities.
- Knowledge of supporting EL/ML students
- Exceptional verbal, written, and technical communication skills.
- Proficiency with Google, Power School, and Schoology.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent diplomacy skills in managing difficult people and situations.
- Excellent knowledge of the processes related to effective online teaching and learning.
- Strong supervisory and decision making skills.
- Ability to manage crises effectively.
- 3 years of successful teaching experience
- Endorsement in Administration and Supervision
Pay: $4,000 (stipend)
