• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development.
• Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration and discovery.
• Assess and monitor each child s progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child s development and milestones.
• Collaborate with fellow educators to enhance curriculum and share best practices.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom setting.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
• Encourage positive behavior and conflict resolution among students.

• Must meet Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) Lead Teacher qualifications
• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience working in a licensed preschool or early childhood education setting
• One of the following credentials:
  • CDA (Child Development Associate)
    OR
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field OR
  • Equivalent education/training as approved by VDSS
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Completion of required VDSS training, including:
  • Child Abuse & Neglect
  • Health & Safety
  • Medication Administration (if applicable)
• Ability to pass all required background check

• 3+ years of experience as a Lead or Co-Lead Teacher
• Experience implementing a structured or research-based curriculum
• Knowledge of Virginia licensing standards and classroom compliance
• Experience mentoring or supporting assistant teachers
• Passion for continuous learning and professional development
