Job DescriptionThe University of Virginia’s College at Wise invites applications for a tenure‑track, full‑time assistant professor in Hospitality and Tourism Management with a secondary specialization. The role is housed within the Department of Business and Economics and will support the Hospitality and Tourism Management major, regional economic development, and the department’s growing program. Candidates will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, collaborate with local businesses, advise students, and conduct scholarly research in the field.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in hospitality and tourism management and a secondary specialization.
- Conduct research suitable for the department of business and economics at UVA‑Wise.
- Collaborate with local businesses and organizations.
- Mentor and advise students, supporting their academic and career development.
- Promote the hospitality and tourism program to local students and organizations.
- Engage in service activities within the department and university community.
- Hold regular office hours during the regular semesters.
- A Ph.D. in Hospitality and Tourism Management, Business Administration, or a related field in the secondary specialization (advanced ABD candidates will be considered).
