Overview
The Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia seeks to hire a full-time academic General Faculty (non-tenure track) professor to teach multiple courses across its MBA degree programs. This position is affiliated with the Marketing Area. The faculty member will develop and teach business-relevant graduate courses and provide service to the university, community, and department. Darden offers face-to-face and blended-delivery instructional formats, with sessions scheduled on weekdays, evenings, and weekends across the year.
The full-time residential MBA program is offered in Charlottesville, VA; blended-delivery formats for working professionals (Part-Time MBA and Executive MBA) are offered in the Washington, DC Metro area (Rosslyn, VA).
- Develop and teach graduate courses relevant to MBA programs across the Marketing Area.
- Provide service to the university, community, and department.
- Engage with varied instructional formats (face-to-face and blended delivery) and adapt to schedules that include weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
- At least a master's degree in a business-related discipline (doctorate strongly preferred) from an accredited institution by the time of hire.
- Ability to teach courses in sales excellence, advanced B2B marketing, and international/global marketing. Experience or interest in emerging markets, innovation and product marketing is desirable.
- Experience or interest in teaching experienced executives across a wide range of sectors is a plus.
- Passion for student-centered case-based teaching and experiential learning; interest or experience in curriculum and course development, including case-writing, within a business school context.
- Alignment with the Darden mission to improve the world by inspiring responsible leaders through transformational learning experiences. While an active research agenda is not required, staying current with the evidence base that supports teaching is expected; active involvement in the department’s research community is encouraged if desired.
