The head coach displays the ability to manage all aspects of a public-school sports program, including coordinating high-level practice sessions and providing exceptional leadership and coaching for student-athletes during regional and state competitions. They possess a proven ability to recruit and coordinate the efforts of an assistant coaching staff, manage the team s fundraising efforts while maintaining the highest standards of sportsmanship and teamwork.

• Organizes the overall soccer program.
• Prepares players both physically and mentally for interscholastic competition through practice, teaching of fundamental skills, and knowledge of rules.
• Checks eligibility forms and submits to the Student Activities Director.
• Sees that all physical and academic requirements are met by each player and submits such information to the Student Activities Director to establish the VHSL eligibility list.
• Supervises the cleaning, storage, and proper care of all equipment.
• Requisition s, through the Student Activities Director, supplies, uniforms, and all necessary equipment.
• Fosters good school-community relations by keeping the community aware of and responsive to the athletic program.
• Conducts pre-season meetings with parents.
• Prepares daily practice schedule and conducts practice sessions.
• Attends all VHSL clinics.
• Follows county financial policies concerning the collection and receipt of funds.

• Demonstrated ability to support management program through previous experience as a coach or player.
• Previous coaching experience, knowledge of the sport, and current understanding of coaching techniques and strategies.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to mentor and motivate student-athletes.
• Coaches with prior college experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
